To create each page on your portfolio, you will begin by identifying the goal. Next, you will upload a product to demonstrate your ability to meet each indicator identified. All products submitted in your portfolio as evidence must be assignments that were completed in your courses during your program of study and represent original work created by you. For example, the goal for Social and Behavioral Research is "Goal 5: Candidates demonstrate their understanding of social and behavioral research" and one of the indicators that is represented is "Indicator 1: Identify critical contextual professional problems and issues within education and conduct related research." Next, in a paragraph provide a description of the artifact that is uploaded as evidence of your ability to meet the indicator. Repeat this procedure for each product uploaded. Two to three products should be uploaded for each goal. Finally, your reflection will be uploaded as an attached Word document file. A sample follows below.

This product that I used to represent the goal of demonstrating my understanding of social and behavioral research is a research project that I conducted on children of diversity in a preschool setting. For this project, I completed a literature review on diversity in preschool, strategies for addressing diversity in a preschool setting, and visited a preschool classroom and interacted with two children of diversity. My findings are reported.
The rationale for selecting this research project is that it demonstrates my ability to identify contextual professional problem and issues within education. In my literature review, I found a startling statistic that stated that 38% of all children in preschool are minorities and only 17% of teaching staff are minorities. This creates an issue in being knowledgeable on strategies to effectively educate students who may be different than you are. Through my research, I was able to locate strategies on how to educate for diversity within a classroom. My findings from my interactions with the two preschool students allowed me further investigate this problem within the appropriate context, so that theory could be blended with actual practice.
